Found Bed Bugs On Your Mattress? Steps You Need To Take Next

If the last time you took your bedding off of your mattress you found tiny bugs in your bed, it's more than likely bed bugs. Bed bugs are very small bugs that look similar to an apple seed. If you have found this type of pest in your bed, and you suspect that it's bed bugs, you need to take action before you find that they are all over your home. These pests are not just found in the bedroom or in the bed, they can be found anywhere in your home, including on wall decor and on ceiling lighting. These pests can be difficult to get rid of, which is why you need to start right away to get rid of them. Read on for steps you should take if you've found bed bugs in your bed.

Vacuum Your Mattress

Remove all of your bedding again and toss it into your washing machine at the hottest setting to expose your mattress. Next, you need to take your vacuum cleaner and vacuum the mattress thoroughly. Vacuum the cracks thoroughly and along the sides. You also need to vacuum the underside and the box spring if you have one. Once you're finished, you should remove the vacuum from your home and empty the contents outside of your home to prevent any of the bed bugs that may be alive from getting into your home again.

Use A Mattress Bag

Once your mattress and box spring was vacuumed, you need to put your mattress into a mattress bag to protect it from getting infested again with bed bugs. Mattress bags can be found at most mattress stores, but you may be able to find them at some big box stores as well or online. The mattress bags are designed to prevent bed bugs from getting into your bed, but they could get onto your bedding again, so you need to be sure you keep an eye on your bedding as well.

Wash Your Bedding Often

Wash your bedding often to prevent bed bugs from getting back into your bed and biting you. You need to stay vigilant and watch your bedding to be sure you don't see any more bed bugs on your bedding. Pull your bed away from the wall and keep your mattress away from the bed frame as much as you can.

If you have bed bugs in your bed, you need to take immediate action. Hire a pest control company right away to get rid of these pests and prevent them from infesting your home.

About Me

Learning About Hiring Pest Control Experts

Welcome to my site. I'm Shayna Gregory. I am here to talk to you about the benefits of hiring pest control experts once or twice a year. Pest control experts can inspect your home from top to bottom to find pests lurking in the shadows. Unless pest infestations are incredibly bad, you just won't see the critters running about the house. Instead, they sit under appliances, behind the walls or under the floors until darkness hides their presence. Despite not seeing the creatures scurrying about, their presence can cause health problems and damage to the home. My site will feature all of the benefits of hiring a pest control expert to rid the home of harmful critters. Please visit again soon.
